4 Paws Down Canine Obedience's mission is to improve your
relationship with your dog and make living together more enjoyable.
Maureen May has a passion for bringing out the
best in dogs and giving them the opportunity
to have a fulfilling life as a well-behaved
member of the family. Maureen has spent
countless hours fostering and training dogs
for
Circle Tail, Inc., a Cincinnati-based
rescue organization that trains dogs to be
partnered with people with disabilities and
operates a limited-admission shelter.
Through experience with helping one-time
rescue dogs become a partner to someone
with a special need, she has learned to
appreciate the amazing gift a well-behaved
dog can be.

Maureen believes that every dog deserves a
chance at an education.
No dog is too young or too old to be trained.

About Us
Maureen with Mica and Aidan
She is a graduate of the premier establishments
National K-9
School for Dog Trainers in
Columbus, Ohio and
Martin Deeley’s International
School for Dog Trainers, in Montverde, Florida.
Under Martin Deeley's tutelage, Maureen learned
the E-Touch Method™
, a gentle application of the
remote trainer used in conjunction with positive
training approaches. Maureen is also certificated in
the ForceFree Method™, pioneered by Marc
Goldberg of
Chicagoland Boarding School for
Dogs which combines the remote collar and body
language to work WITH the dog's instincts rather
than against them.  Using these two methods,
along with techniques learned through many hours
of studying and implementing a variety of other
training methods.  Maureen has helped to develop
the amazing UnlE-eashed™ Method.
She maintains an active membership with the
International
Association of Canine
Professionals, which provides her the unique
opportunity to share with clients the wealth of
knowledge gained from ideas exchanged with
professional trainers and other canine
professionals throughout the world.

Maureen has dedicated herself to educating dogs
and their owners.

Virginia Simpson specializes in off-leash
obedience and serious behavior problem
solving.  She began her professional career while
providing in-home training for clients of the
Stray
Animal Adoption Program, a 501(c)(3) foster care
program that helps find homes for displaced
animals.  Through her experiences with SAAP,
Virginia realized that the #1 reason dogs are
given up is  a lack of or improper behavior
training.  And so began a passion to educate
dogs and their owners!  Virginia continues to
enjoy fostering and training many of the dogs for
SAAP and currently serves on the Board of
Governors.

Virginia began collaborating with other
professional trainers and went on to receive her
original training certification from the
Animal
Behavior College.  She has since received her
advanced training certification in the use of the
E-
Touch™ and ForceFree™ methods for a variety
of aggression issues in dogs and the
implementation of the natural retrieve and forced-
fetch at the
International School for Dog Trainers
with
Martin Deeley and Marc Goldberg of
Chicagoland School for Dogs.   Additionally, she
holds a degree in Psychology from the University
of Arkansas and continues her education in dog
training and behavior through seminars,
collaboration with other trainers and workshops.
Together with Maureen, she has worked to
incorporate the E-Touch™ and the ForceFree™
Methods into their own personal techniques to
develop the amazing UnlE-eashed™ Method.

Virginia maintains a Professional Membership with
the
International Association of Canine
Professionals allowing her access to a wealth of
knowledge from professional trainers all over the
globe and the
Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Hi Maureen and Virginia!

Johnny is AMAZING!!!
My nephew came home
from college this past
weekend to visit and
could not believe how
different he is. He no
longer runs for the door.
I take him out everyday
without a leash. He will
come, sit, and wait when
I ask him. We still use
the collar but not very
much and never past a
level 1 or 2. There are
times I don't take the
remote with me and he
still listens. You have no
idea how much this
helped my family and I
am your best commercial
because I tell everyone
the miracle you worked
for us. I cannot believe
how you trained him in
only 11 days!  As I write
this, he is sleeping on
his back on the couch.
I am sorry it took so
long to write back but
my mom was diagnosed
with lymphoma and she
and my dad are living
with us. She fortunately
has a lymphoma they
can cure but the chemo
is hard on her. She
takes great joy in seeing
Johnny be such a well
behaved dog and that
helps her spirit.
Thanks you for all you
have done for us and I
will continue to spread
the word!
Nicole D. and family
I just have to tell you
how pleased I am with
what you were able to
accomplish with my
dog.  A ninety-pound
German Shepherd is no
fly weight, but thanks
to your training, I can
handle her easily and
we now both enjoy our
walks together.  She
has also calmed down
significantly when she
meets people (and
other dogs!) for the
first time and can stay
in the room with my
company with no
problems.  I would
recommend
4 Paws Obedience to
anyone who has
difficulty controlling
their animal - large or
small! - or who simply
want a dog that is as
well trained as it can
be.
